Dirty Nelly @ KL Live

The story of Dirty Nelly was started over a hundred years ago, a middle aged farmer and his faithful pig, Dirty Nelly lived in a small village in Northern England which was engirdled and secluded, for the most part untrodden as yet by tourist or landscape painter. It was a fact known to all that Miss Nelly was the oldest in the land, even the border Reiver clans of Southern Scotland had no doubt on the subject. One unfortunate day, the village was cursed with famine. The crops were dying and the villagers were starving. Having nothing to eat himself, the farmer stood before Dirty Nelly, and contemplated. Finally, he made up his mind to sacrifice Dirty Nelly for the sake of the people. It was a relief to the others for Dirty Nelly was so large that she fed the village for an entire week which regained the villager’s morale and uplifted their spirits. Yet, at this new age, few understood and still fewer knew this but with that, that little village went on to prosper…
Now the story Continues. Welcome to Dirty Nelly’s…

The soup line up : Yellow Vanilla RM17, Cock-A-Leekie Soup RM14 & British Tomato RM17
Yellow Vanilla, RM17
Delicately roasted pumpkin & squash then blitz to creaminess with nutmeg and topped with vanilla sour cream.

Okay, this is the MUST TRY dish, you cal call it DIRTY NELLY”S, RM53
As the name itself not for the faint hearted or the health conscious. A trio of PORK, BEEF & LAMB meat combined to make this wicked patty. That’s not all, buried generously in the patty are England cheddar and Jalapeno Peppers. Then grilled and tucked handsomely between sesame seeded bun with toppings of Mustard Mash. Grilled Bacon & duck eggs Sunny Side-up. This super dish has brought me to heaven…

Caesar Salad, RM19The most controversial among all the salads. Pork bacon, boiled quail eggs, bread croutons tossed well with DN’s special Caesar dressing.

Crab Cakes, RM21
Mixture of white & brown crab meat, with  a medley of other complemented ingredients, crusted with bread crumbs

Gammon Steak with Pineapple & Fried Duck Egg, RM45Grilled gammon steak and caramelized pineapple make a classic pairing. Adding fried duck egg with its rich creamy yoke was heaven on fork.

Shepherd’s Pie, RM38. Traditional farmer’s mince lamb topped with mashed potato and sealed underneath a golden crispy puff pastry.

Pork of Beef Escalopes, RM35. Simple yet tasty meal is snart enough to be a meal any time of the day. Delicately flavored Pork or Beef meat pan fried to absolute deliciousness, served with boiled asparagus and creamed mushroom sauce.

Nelly’s Belly
Gosh, I tell you how guilty I was when I enjoying this dish. Rich and fatty belly exquisitely braised with a medley of spices, melted in my mouth. It make me totally lost control in this bravo dish!  Must try dish in Dirty Nelly.

Beef Cobbler with Scones, RM35Light and fluffy on the top, rich and tender at the bottom. The hearty beef stew with cheesy topping is a lovely alternative to a steak pie.
